Train With Me
Lost your mojo? Don't worry, we've all been there. The good news is that you are going to feel strong, sexy - and most importantly, healthy - without ever going on a diet.
I've written for the world's biggest publications – reading, researching and interviewing experts about anything and everything to do with health and fitness. What have I learned?
There are no shortcuts.
The only way to permanently lose fat, build lean muscle and get fit, is with good old-fashioned healthy eating and exercise. Lift heavy things, feed yourself well, move with grace. Work hard and feel the rewards. It’s that simple.
My strictly no-BS approach cuts through the confusion around exercise and nutrition, giving you the tools to create a complete lifestyle change. What works for one person won’t necessarily work for you. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach with health. You’re unique, so why should your training be any different?
You deserve to feel empowered, confident and energetic every damn day, so let’s make it happen.

If there's one thing I dig as much as music, it's food. My blog Bootleg Kitchen combines these two great loves.
Like a musical sommelier, I’ve created great-tasting recipes, then hand-picked the perfect matching playlists to help you find your culinary groove.

I'm a Sydney-based personal trainer, yoga coach and health journalist. I'm also sick of all the self-loathing in the world. I've fallen prey to ridiculous insecurities, endlessly comparing myself to others and generally being mean to myself. Sound familiar? But I called time on that rubbish, because life is too short not to love yourself silly. And know what? It was the best move I ever made. Now, it's your turn.

I was first introduced to Cassie four months before I took a career break. As I was already doing weights and high-intensity training at the gym, we instead did yoga, focusing on strengthening my core and doing inversions. A few months later I left for a five-month motorcycle adventure, riding from the southern tip of South America, all the way up to Alaska.
The journey was an outstanding success; my fitness and strength helped immensely in some very taxing situations, like when I tackled a high-altitude crossing of the Andes Mountains on a dirt track.
Now, I’m back and training two days a week with Cassie. For me she’s the ideal personal trainer. She can readily assess my individual needs, gives me tailored HIT sessions and compliments them with a yoga program that helps me do more with weights.
Cassie is such an inspiration and a fantastic personal trainer. From the beginning she took the time to understand not only my goals, but where I was starting from and why I felt I needed to change.
I had been on the search for a personal trainer for a while when I was introduced to Cassie. Unbeknownst to her, there was quite a long checklist to be met by the time we met. Cassie has made me so much more aware of the way I move and I was particularly impressed with her attention to technique, which was really important to me in finding “the one”.
Her knowledge of fitness, physiology and nutrition set her apart from the other trainers I encountered in my epic search. Each training session is different and I was pleasantly surprised that I saw some pretty dramatic strength differences within the first month.
Cassie has a wonderful way of pushing me while still being absolutely loveable. I’m so thankful to have found a trainer who I’ve grown close to, feel comfortable with and trust to have my best interests in mind.
I always wanted to be a gym-goer, but had no idea what to do once I got there. So, after a few poorly guided and failed attempts at getting fit, instead I started training with Cassie.
The best bit is having a trainer who is real, who understands when the soreness from the previous day’s workout trumps my motivation to hit it again, and that I’m not going to give up my weekend eating and drinking routine easily. At the same time, Cass won’t cop my excuses. She pushes me to achieve realistic goals and become stronger than I thought I could ever be.
I knew working out was good for you, but I can’t believe how much working with a sensitive and motivating trainer has helped with my anxiety issues. I just feel better. Sleeping better and overall feeling good is a great benefit, but most satisfying is the newfound muscle definition I can brag about. These days I can actually lift the weights I used to shy away from.
After training with Cassie I feel strong, I’m lifting more than I imagined – and my motivation’s not going anywhere.
Cassie got my body from sloppy to toned. Training with her was the first time I’d been in a gym since I let my two-year membership expire with a visit rate of 1.3 per cent. Using her skills and expertise, Cass educated me about my body and lifestyle through a program that was tailored to suit my insane life and internet posture.
I discovered my core for the first time in 30 years, learned how to push a sled like nobody’s business and many people commented on my new-found excitement for mornings. Cass implanted some kind of chip in me and I began to put down the wine and pick up the ropes.
Let’s be honest, spin class still gives me hyper-colour nightmares, but I no longer have a secret stash of cheese fat hanging around my middle. Thanks for the good, punishing times, Cass. I highly recommend her to all my favourite people.
Cassie is bright, smart and tough – qualities that I discovered while working with her and which she brings to every assignment, recipe or workout. Her experience as a health writer, particularly one who not only researches and understands her material but masters it, and her drive to get the best out of people, is something I value highly – and I know you will too.
Whether it’s eating one of the beautiful salads or raw brownies from her food blog, moving with grace in her funky yoga classes or getting the most out of a high-octane workout while she guides you every step of the way, you’re going to love working with Cass, just as I have.
As Oprah Winfrey put it so perfectly: “Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher”. Well, Cassie sure will lift you higher. She can and will take you to wherever you want to go. You just have to take the first step and BELIEVE!
Cass is a razor-sharp, sassy and conscientious dynamo. She also knows all matters of fitness and nutrition back to front. While a lot of guys tend to prefer a male trainer, I’d tell these guys that they could not go wrong with Cassie.
She will drive you hard but she knows exactly what she’s doing, every step of the way. Her work in the area of improving lifting (and therefore physique) via yoga is exciting and in many ways ground-breaking. She’s also a kind, compassionate and interesting person, and I’d recommend her to anyone who wants to look and feel better.
